November 2016 - Fall Leaves

Project Title: 🍁🍂🍁  Fall Leaves  🍁🍂🍁


Description:
  • "Frottage" is a French word which means "to rub".  K-1 artists chose a variety of fall leaves that had been collected to create a fall motif.  Warm or cold colors were selected to complete our backgrounds using the water color resist technique

October 2016 - Hundertwasser Landscapes

Project Title: Hundertwasser Landscapes

Description:
  • Students were given a brief introduction to Hundertwasser's life and to his paintings.  His goal was to live in harmony with nature.  He was fascinated by spirals and he used "dunkelbunt" colors; bright colors found on a rainy day.  Students crafted oversized flowers to create happiness in our SES courtyard in the style of Hundertwasser.

Description:
  • Introduction to Fredensreich Hundertwasser’s life and artwork (Powerpoint presentation). Hundertwasser was an Austrian artist who lived from 1928-2000.  He loved nature and wanted people to respect and to take of our environment.  His pictures reflect this life message.  Hundertwasser flowers represent peace and hope the artist wished to restore to his city, Vienna, post WWII.
